Paradise Rim Arabians raises Straight Spanish and Spanish Cross Arabians on 15 lush acres in Spokane, Washington.  Our interest in Spanish began at Brumarba Arabians where we were enthralled by the disposition and beauty of their Spanish Stock.  Our foundation mares are predominantly Barich de Washoe daughters and granddaughters. 

Spanish Arabians descend from a nucleus of only 36 horses.  The resultant gene pool is highly inbred and produces a prepotent and consistent breeding horse.  We breed mostly Straight Spanish to keep this homogenous gene pool.   This genetic prepotency when out-crossed to non Spanish bloodlines produces a dynamic individual.  In breeding genetics, this is known as "Hybrid Vigor" -- the ability to create the "best of both worlds" when out-crossed.  Evidence of this exists in the show ring with many well known horses being Spanish get, grand-get, or having Spanish bloodlines.  Recognizable names include:  

 WN Ultimate Star, Magnum Psyche, Legacy of Gold, WN Antigua, Shaia, AN Marietta, LH Garcia, Baskeynah, Bey Teyna, Parmia, Echo Magnifficoo, Eternity, La Duquesa, MI  Fanci, SB La Ina, Shahteyna, Surita, SX La Quinta, SX Saladin,  Top Contender, Talagato, WN Mi Kerida...and more each year.  This is an enviable number since Spanish horses are fairly rare yet contribute to a great many show horse pedigrees.  

Straight Spanish colts are usually very marketable due to their genetic prepotency in a "straight" or out-cross breeding program. The traits dominating Spanish Arabian breeding are their large beautiful eyes, smooth toplines with strong loin coupling, athletic movement with lightness of forehand, and tractable, quiet dispositions making them an excellent versatile family horses.
